这首歌来之一位非常有才华的艺术家 芭芭拉·史翠珊（Barbra Streisand）， 史翠珊特别擅长演唱那些激情洋溢的抒情歌曲，她的歌曲中蕴含着水一样的热情和诗一般的温馨。60年代中期她曾三次获得葛莱美最佳流行女歌手奖，1987年又一次获得该项奖。同时她在电影方面也有惊人的成就。
另外同样有一位音乐剧史上的重要人物经典演绎过这首歌曲——忆莲·佩姬Elaine Paige，人称“英国音乐剧第一夫人”。1981年，佩姬出演音乐剧《猫》中的Grizabella，首唱了经久不衰的歌曲《回忆》(memory)，Elaine Paige的歌声轻吟低唱时音质极为甜美，但到了激情处，歌声宏大奔放，演唱收放自如，极为老练！。1998年，她应邀在公开发行的录像片《猫》中重新饰演这个角色，风采依旧不减当年，使得这部作品成为英美地区最畅销的音乐剧录影带。
《猫Cat》的作者是安德鲁·莱·韦伯。《猫》自从1981年推出之后，曾在全球150个城市、以14种不同的语言上演，观赏过的观众超过五千万人！一提起《猫》，相信马上联想起剧中最脍炙人口的一首歌曲——Memory，它在《猫》剧中一共出现了三次。
